    What’s a floodlight camera?

A floodlight camera is a kind of outdoor security camera that is paired with motion-activated floodlights. Floodlights are the very bright, artificial lights you might’ve been temporarily blinded by in a football field. In residential areas, a less intense version of these lights is typically used to illuminate driveways, porches, and backyards.

      Are floodlight cameras worth it?

Home security has never been more important. Floodlight cameras can give you great peace of mind. Roku Floodlight Camera alerts you when there’s activity, allowing you to view your outdoor spaces and ward off any intruders—human or animal. With easy setup and an affordable price point, Roku Floodlight Camera is a great entry-level floodlight camera.

Does a floodlight camera have a battery?

Roku Floodlight Camera requires an electrical connection to power the bright lights and ensure you never miss a thing. It must be installed on what is called a junction box, a small box where electrical wires meet. The junction box must have a ground wire. If your house already has floodlights, they are most likely already installed on a junction box. If you don’t have a junction box, you’ll need to have an electrician install one where you’d like to put your floodlight camera. If you’re not comfortable working with live wires, we recommend having an electrician install Roku Floodlight Camera.
