Can I replace just my Roku remote?

Can any Roku remote work with any Roku device?

No. Some Roku TV models and some Roku devices are only compatible with certain remotes.

Roku Players Remote (aka Roku Simple Remote) works with most Roku players and Roku audio devices (except Roku® Streaming Stick® devices) but does not work with Roku TV models.

Roku TV Remote works only with Roku TV models and not with Roku players or Roku audio devices.

Roku Voice Remote, Roku Voice Remote Pro, and Roku Voice Remote Pro (2^nd edition) work with all Roku TV models and audio devices, and most players (some older models may not be supported).

Do I need Wi-Fi® to use my Roku remote?

Roku Voice Remote, Roku Voice Remote Pro, and Roku Voice Remote Pro (2^nd edition) are Wi-Fi® remotes. A Roku voice remote connects over a wireless network and does not need to be pointed directly at your Roku streaming player or Roku TV when pressing buttons. This allows you to install your Roku streaming player behind a wall-mounted TV or another nearby, out-of-sight location.

Roku Players Remote and Roku TV Remote don’t need Wi-Fi® to work, so they must be pointed directly at your Roku device to work.
